Renoalda Scott

Chair

Chairwoman Scott is an activist and mother who has resided in Macon- Bibb for her entire life. Her vision for the party is focused on community, with an emphasis for civic engagement among those who have felt excluded from the party. “My goal is to foster open communication, mutual respect, and shared goals to ensure the committee operates as a united team. By bridging generational gaps and working together, we can drive meaningful change within our community.”

Julia Adele Callahan

1st Vice Chair

Julia Adele Callahan is the First Vice Chair. She’s a mother to two toddlers, a small business owner, the cofounder of Middle Georgia 4 Choice, and member of the Young Democrats of Georgia. “I plan on using the next two years to build the brand identity of the Macon-Bibb Democratic Committee to be one known for service and community.”

Pastor Greg Turner

Second Vice Chair for Membership

Gregory Turner is a Vietnam Veteran, and has lived in Macon his whole life outside of being moved around for his career. He has served as the associate pastor and Sunday school teacher at Greater Zion Hill Baptist, a past board member for the EOC, a team leader for 1,000 Women Strong, and as a legal administrative assistant for the 92nd Engineering Battalion and the 84th Ordinance Battalion.

Angelia Hoomes

Secretary

Angelia Hoomes may not have been born in Macon, but her ties to the community are deep. Both her children and her only grandchild were born in Macon. She has worked in the financial industry as a financial planner and most recently worked for GEICO in multiple departments.  She is honored to be reelected as the committee secretary, and has a vision for more organized record keeping for the party.

Lynn Snyder

Treasurer

Lynn Snyder is serving as our treasurer. She is a wife, mother, grandmother and retired nurse. She attended the University of Virginia School of Nursing on an army student nurse scholarship and used her G.I. Benefits to earn a Master’s of Administration from Central Michigan University. She served on active duty as an Army Nurse Corps Officer during the Vietnam era and as a reserve officer during Operation Desert Storm. Lynn was a founding member of Georgia Women (and Those Who Stand With Us) serving as treasurer from its inception in 2017 until 2023 and co-president from 2020-2023. Lynn is a post seat holder and served as a delegate to the Georgia State Convention in 2022.

Dr. Juawn Jackson

Parliamentarian

Dr. Juawn A. Jackson, a lifelong public servant and resident of Macon-Bibb County, has dedicated his career to serving his community. A product of the Bibb County School District, he became the youngest elected member of the Bibb County Board of Education, later serving as its president. Dr. Jackson's commitment to public service extends to his efforts in reducing barriers to college access for first-generation and limited-income students in Middle Georgia. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Georgia College & State University, and Mercer University, he continues to serve his community through his leadership as chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, where he worships.

Earnestine Wilson

Political Director

Earnestine Wilson is a Maconite and the mother of four. She is a dedicated community activist currently employed by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Atrium Health Police. She has served as vice chair of the Democratic Party under the leadership of Anissa Jones.

Wilson has always worked to improve the community. She has collaborated with People United and helped feed the homeless. She has orchestrated rallies for peace, and in 2019, she challenged her peers to become more aware of mental health issues.

In 2019, she was honored as a Queen Mother in Elmina, Ghana—Macon, Georgia’s sister city.

Jaylan Scott

Communications Director

Jaylan Scott is the Deputy Director for Communications and Advocacy at Future Majority, a strategic center focused on non-biased, data-driven strategies to inform policy and governance. With nearly a decade of experience in local, state, and national progressive campaigns, he has contributed to high-profile efforts such as Stacey Abrams’ gubernatorial campaign, Rep. Nikema Williams’ congressional campaign, and Michael Blake’s bid for Democratic National Committee Vice-Chairman. A proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Jaylan is also deeply engaged in community leadership, recently serving as Chair for the Macon-Bibb Democratic Party and now as Communications Director.
